One of the best things about my job is seeing a customer’s plan and vision come together. Since joining my parent’s business in 1985, I have enjoyed the creative side that building homes allows me. My wife, Lori, and I have built and lived in two Wisconsin Homes and both have presented us with great memories while our family has grown up. I take pride in every home we have built. My kids will tell you that I often will take a side trip to admire a former client’s home when we take trips throughout Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota. My goal is fairly simple. Every day, our company works hard to exceed our customers’ expectations. I’m proud to have a great staff which helps me accomplish that goal.

Welcome to the Kelly Building Systems’ website! I appreciate your visit, and hope to get to know you in person someday. I’ve found that’s the best part about my job--forming relationships with customers, understanding your needs, and fulfilling your dreams. Consequently, here’s a little bit about myself, so you can get to know me as well.
I grew up on a farm south of Calmar, the youngest of nine. After high school, I attended the University of Northern Iowa and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with a minor in Economics. Family being important to me, I then moved back to the Decorah area and worked at a local bank processing loans in the real estate department. This is where I fell in love with the pleasure of handing people their set of keys. These keys represent so much more--the accumulation of hard work and saving, just living in a house vs. the pride of owning a home, what was once a fantasy turning into a reality. Soon marriage and children came along, and I was looking for a bit more flexibility between work and family. Subsequently, I joined Kelly Real Estate as an associate appraiser in 2002, achieved my real estate license in 2005, and started with the Kelly Building Systems in 2007. I enjoy working with floor plans and styles, and am very happy to be here to serve you today. To me, it’s not just about sales-homes are a central part of everyone’s lifestyle. When given the opportunity to assist someone with such an important aspect of their lives, I take that responsibility to heart, and I don’t consider what I do a job, but a gratifying experience.
Tim Houdek - Construction Manager
Tim joined Kelly Building Systems in 1993 when he returned to Decorah. Having a wealth of experience in the construction industry gives Tim a thorough background. His knowledge helps make general contracting your entire project a natural fit for Kelly Building Systems. Tim enjoys listening to customers’ dreams and putting them into action.
Nick Klegseth - Construction Technician
Kelly Building Systems has been fortunate to team up with Nick since 2006. Having extensive previous experience in residential construction and a personal pride in the work he does makes Nick an invaluable part of our construction team. Like the rest of the Kelly Building Systems team, Nick’s focus is to build a home he is proud to put his name on.
