Here’s Proof: Our Homes Are A Great Investment!

A large reason for buying a home traditionally has been for investment purposes. It's true that it lags behind the other positives such as the feeling of owning your own space, but it has always felt better to contribute money to our own home rather than a landlord's property. The last few years have shaken that theory when property values stalled and dropped. However, these cycles have happened before and a home has traditionally been a family's best investment.
This was reinforced to me the other day when a former customer of ours decided to downsize and sold the home we built for him in 1999. That home, a lot model moved to our development and purchased for $115,000.00, now was selling for $215,000.00. The original price did not include some quality finished space in the basement and good care by the owners, but nevertheless showed a great rate of return as an investment. More importantly, it provided many happy memories for the owners.
As rents rise and interest rates fall, rent vs. mortgage payments are equalizing. This is added incentive for those of you who dream of a home of your own and there is no better investment than a home built by Kelly Building Systems.
